No work for a few days...

If.......

If you can keep your leaves when all about you are losing theirs........

you stand more chance of getting blown over in the wind! The LiquidAmba still has all its leaves and is slowly turning but the very strong winds of the last few days have pushed it over. So stronger stakes and a prop are calls for. 

Some more gardening got done too.

I have started the Autumn gardening - tidying up the  dying foliage. 

The sheep were very impressed with the cuttings.

What a difference a day makes...

This morning the sun was out but we had a dentist appointment 

This afternoon I was free but Storm Abigail is on us!

Rain didn't stop play but....

Today was 'Pressure Wash your paths day' so I did. At last, I started. I got about halfway through the job when the pressure washer gave up. So it wasn't 'Pressure Wash your paths day' after all.

So I went and played trains instead.

A wet day. Liuckily I had arranged to take some friends to see a model railway and coach collection.

Even more ditching.

Despite light rain this morning I carried on with the strimming. 

When it got too much I found a nice seat with a view. 

This afternoon it poured so back to the trains. 

There will be a spiral in the centre so a train can go up and down the hill in a loop. 

More landscaping too. 

Oh dear, it is raining!

Never mind, there are trains now!

It's that time of year again.

Some gardening..

And in the pond..... When I did all the work cleaning it I was disappointed not to see any fish and assumed the heron had had them all. But today I saw a shoal of about twenty black goldfish. 

They don't show up well in photos. 

Pond work.

The last two days have been spent in the pond. It was due for a major clear out as I have just dabbled around the edges for the last couple of years. So it was out with the hedge trimmer ( it works really well as an underwater scythe ) then trimming everything in sight. 

It as also time to harvest the butternut squashes and the pumpkins. Not so many as last year!
