Busy busy

I am recovering all my old IT skills on Helen's laptop and desktop!
So Helen and Kate and the children have been working out in the fields.
Gleaming the remnants of haymaking...

And picking stones out of the new grass.

There has been much wildlife around....

A long tailed field mouse found in the seed bin.

and Immie found a swallow egg ( but she didn't swallow it)

Bright lights, big city!!

We went to Brecon for some shopping. Coo what big shops!
Now we have visitors.

Too many magpies.

We have a bevy of magpies hanging around at the moment. Two adults and four young two of which are still begging for food. Very loudly.

Time to harvest the peas in the tunnel. Somehow I don't think it is worth all the effort when BirdsEye do such a good job!

More wildlife..

This young female sparrowhawk dropped in to the garden today. She looked around then pounced on a sparrow. And some foliage. She must like salad with her meal!

Just when you thought life couldn't get more exciting...

As I walked down to the polytunnel this morning I spotted this buzzard on the grass. He/she appears to have a damaged leg but has hopped onto a fence post for some r&r.

A new visitor

A moorhen has taken to the pond. It arrives early morning (three or four o-clock) with much 'peep'ing and then settles in. It is quite timid and hides if there is movement in the conservatory. A welcome addition - aprt from the three o-clock thing.
