We walked up past the bottom of the fall, round by the Scout barn, up on to the Mallaen and then down to the lane past Glyncoed.

A wet day......

Wet paint on the bench, wet compound on the floor and wet from the sky too. But a pleasant sunset.

I found some very nice blue epoxy paint on the shelf left by the previous owner. Perfick.

A sad story.....

We found these bench ends buried in the undergrowth and I thought it would be nice to make them back into a bench. They are very heavy cast iron and I had thought that they were Victorian or Edwardian.





So I cleaned them up with a wire brush then I jet washed them.


and they came up very nice. But in cleaning them I found a manufacturers mark.


Not antique then. More likely 1970's B&Q. Never mind it will still make a comfy chair.

Yay. We have our very own hook-up!

and it's out with the black paint again.

Progress on the garage doors.

They don't look any different. But you can see the old doors leaning up at the side so they must be new.

One down, one to go.

That was the easy side. Tomorrow it's the more difficult electric up and over.

Just to set the record straight....

I haven't been working on the garage this weekend - it was a trick. I gatecrashed a family get-together and spent the day reminiscing about the good old days with them - listening to sixties music and looking at photo albums. Great fun.
But now I really am going to get on with the garage. Honest.

Cold but dry. Time to remove the old doors ready for tomorrow.

Brrrr. Too cold. Back to bed.

Not really. Busy weekend. Garage doors. It is good that it is frosty - it will kill off things that should have died months ago. Like flies. And algae.
