Grass
A couple of days of good weather has meant that the grass has been cut. I have also been busy assembling the scaffold tower and ladders ready to start the dissassembly of the stables. And at the weekend i started work on a few more houses for the layout.

Perfect day.
What a dofference. Bright sunshine and quite warm. An ideal day for a dip in the pond.
The spear-leafed pontederia cordata in the centre of the pond has grow too large again. So it has been greatly reduced. This gives us back the reflecting pool that it used be.
I found some star jelly today. This odd substance is though to be form frogs and toads but i prefer the idea that is of extraterrestrial origin.

A wet day but work carries on.
The rain continued today but i managed to dodge the raindrops and get some outside work done.
The ditch by the road gets blocked with soil regularly and the heavy rain then floods out onto the road. Despite regular complaints to the Highways nothing gets done so i went out with shovel and barrow to clear it.
We ahev not had anywhere for bonfires so i have converted the old pig wallow into a large fire pit. Just in time with Nov. 5th approaching.
And when the rain defeated me in retired to the shed to work on the Aberaeron Express - a small cable car that ran from one side to the other of the harbour. It will eventually be powered when i can work out how.

Catching up
We've been away, in Birmingham and then Cumbria.
This is the view from the house in Hesket Newmarket...
And this is where Arthur sits to look at the view.
I generally sit upstairs and work on models for the layout. This time i made a workers platform for the layout at the station and two buildings for my layout.
Strimming the wildflower meadow.
And pruning the apple trees.
Since coming back i have been catching up in the garden.
Cutting the leylandii.

Still s-logging away.
The last of the wood in the stable has now been chainsawed and logged.
But another job has cropped up!
