And we are wearing them out. 

Tractor time.

The little red tractor stopped yesterday for no good reason. It started fine this morning but a service is in order. 

We need to put a French drain along the top wall of the house so the slabs are coming up and being used to repair the dodgy slabs in the garden entrance. Work in progress. 

Water garden.

This is the view from the middle of the pond - I was in there in the waders removing algae.

In the polytunnel already.

Apart from mowing the grass this has been the task today. This pond has never worked well and lost water so it is going. It was here because we excavated an existing pond on this spot, complete with pump, lost under grass. So now it will be more flowerbed/herb bed. 

In the garden.

Sometimes I spend the day working in the garden and then can't think what I have been doing all day.

The broom hedge is doing well now that the sheep can't eat any of it. 

And the rabbits can't get at the onions this year. 

It's not all gardening!

Today I was mainly painting garden furniture...

I don't know how these seats have got so worn - we hardly ever have time to sit in them!

But some gardening too. Filling in the gaps in the borders.

Taking a break.

I took a morning off (well, it's about time I had a holiday) to join a local walking group who were going up a valley we haven't explored. An isolated place with waterfalls. Perfect. 

Guess what I've been doing?

We've been away.

We have been away in the flatlands of Cambridge and Suffolk. In the caravan near Grafham Water and then near Lowestoft. We had great weather as can been seen in the photos.
