From little acorns....

Not a good day so in the workshop making a large tree. Using armoured cable as the basis, sawdust for bark and lichen for foliage.

Cutting the grass is not very photogenic.

So here are some flowers instead.

And a nice view of the house and grounds!

Plants for free.

This lot were the result of weeding the gravel paths.

My weekend was spent making and painting this, a plastic Airfix type model. It brought back many memories of similar efforts in my youth, although it was mainly model cars then.

Making somewhere to sit...

but in the shade.

We have found that this corner is one of the few places that gets any shade so a perfect spot for another bench.

Wisteria in flower.

We have flowers on the wisteria for the first time. Admittedly they are not magnificent but give them a few years! It grows over the archway onto the road.

The Shirley poppies are also amazing at the moment.

The fun bit.

Putting all the plants in their position.
And then planting them.

The white cage is to train ivy over - it will help hide the air vent pipe.

Working on the moon bed.

And picking a birthday bouquet.

Weeding and planting.

This is the old pumpkin bed which is now a mixed flower growing-on bed. It gets weedy.

Now it has been weeded

And planted up with plants that need to get bigger

And to try to keep the rabbits from digging holes in the bed I have laid down lengths of sheep fencing.

I have also started marking out another new bed - this is behind the main flower bed and is for two reasons - it was a funny shape that was very difficult to cut and I need some turf to level up sections of the Cobb.

But apart from that I have been sitting admiring the view.

Out came the sun and dried up all the rain etc.etc.

What a nice day.
Back to work on the new moon bed - much better name.

And the lupins just about survived the storms.

Not good days for gardening.
