Even more gardening.

I took more hazel from the hedge to replace all the bits that I have used over the last few days.

I used the trimmings to create a low fence to protect some seedling Cosmos that will go in soon.

More gardening.

Today it was the turn of the car park bed and the football field bed.

The football field bed shows how dry it has been.

The car park bed at the end of the day.

This little toad put in an appearance.

As plants move out seedlings move in...French beans and lettuce in the greenhouse.

Gardening.

A lovely day for weeding and planting out to fill up the various beds.

And the lupins! Another job has been to put up stakes for the various tall things that will flop in the winds.

Back in the garden.

After a week away in Stratford upon Avon ( photos at http://cghr.co.uk/stratford-upon-avon)
It is back to cutting the grass and weeding.

The view East was far better than the view West.

The cherry tree is looking good - I hope we get to eat some this year!

Signs of summer.

When we can eat breakfast in the garden things are definetly looking hotter.

Good to see I can still make round things when I need to. A mallet for pegging out the awning.

Following repeated requests from terrified grandchildren I have replaced the starter button on the little red tractor so there will be no need to start it by shorting out the solenoid with the subsequent large sparks!

Painting.

A lovely day to be doing some painting. So the gates and fences got a new coat of brown and the front boundary wall got a ne who at of golden yellow.

And the garden blossoms.

Visitors.

We had visitors for lunch yesterday and today we had a visitor for breakfast.

Kate spotted him/her over by the vegetable beds. He/she had been attacked as there was some blood. But he/she was moving sluggishly so we boxed her ( I'm bored writing he/she ) up and kept her warm for a few hours. We let her go this afternoon in a secluded spot.

More gardening.
Seeds in the greenhouse.

New potatoes doing well.

Onions going in.

And leeks too.

Back in harness...

After a very pleasant break at Manorbier in the caravan (see photos below) it was back to normal today. Which of course means cutting the grass.

The first of the magnolias has started flowering - this is Magnolia Stellata.
