Re-grading my inclines!

It works! The trains go round and if this blog software allowed video I would show you.
However they don't go round dragging carriages very fast. So I have been changing the steepness of the tracks as they go through the tunnels.

Out in the garden.

The weather was good enough for a little gardening today, but the ground is still saturated.

And the frogs have been busy too.

Sometimes I am too busy to blog....

but often I just forget.
So catchup.
Clearing up after the model building...

Refurbishing Tessa's chair...

(For those of you who don't know I made the four girls their own chairs when they were young. Most have their chairs but Tessa's has stayed with us for some reason. It gets used for young visitors and has been looking battered so I have Tessa's permission to refurbish it - any colour but pink she says. )

A little light gardening, planting potatoes in the greenhouse for some early new pots.

This was my share of the wood from clearing the road

And this is it in the stable to start the drying process

An early bulb

And just a little work on the layout

The tractor came without a plough so I made one

The grass in the churchyard is growing

And I have started to wire up the electrics

No days off here!

A second day helping Immie finish her project. And now it is finished!

What we have is a shelter for a homeless family after an earthquake followed by a tsunami have wiped out their town. By salvaging stuff from the ruins, like doors, timber, insulation, solar panels, they have made a home that will survive any aftershocks and tsunamis.

All those days working on the model train layout have finally paid off!

Working with Immie

Immie's holiday project is to build a post-apocalypse shelter. Hers is made out of doors and half buried in a hillside. The turf roof goes on tomorrow.

A lull......

Abbi, Oscar and Summer have gone and we a few hours before Immie and Jack and Helen arrive. So just time to make some yew trees for the churchyard.

Rain stopped play....

No tree fellers today as the skies have opened, but not in a good way. So back to the layout.
Now that I know what I am doing (ha!) with the electrics I have had to undo some bits...

But it will all be back together soon.
When does a hobby become an obsession? Perhaps when you find yourself drilling holes in matchsticks to make fencing......

Still s-logging on

More logs today.

You can see the trees that have been lopped but there is still a long way to go!

Helping out in Death Alley

Neville the Builder was felling trees in the section of road below his property so I went along to help. The trees all lean at a jaunty angle, alarming when you have to drive under them regularly.
Neville is the one in the cherry picker!

No work got done...

but an interesting day. This morning I took some items that had sold on EBay (un-used track) to the Post Office and then visited the Llandovery Model Railway Club. I was looking for some guidance over the wiring and found a thriving club with several layouts working in the Llandovery Railway Station buildings. So I will go along on Club nights and see if I like it. Meanwhile I have been put in touch with Len who is a wizard with track wiring apparently. The layout is progressing nicely but I still haven't got the trains running properly.

Glorious sunset.

The evenings are drawing out and so sunsets are getting better.

More fun and games on the layout. After watching many YouTube videos last night to day I spent the day making walls, hedges, ruins, trees and even gravestones.
