If Neville had supplied us with mince rather than joints we could have said our lamb!

What have I been doing?

Well there was a holiday in Scotland visiting old haunts. Then there was the cottage to get ready for the new tenants. And a small amount of gardening too.


The thornless blackberries are about to start cropping. Yummy yummy and no ouches!

Nearly all done at the cottage. One carpet to lay and some work in the attic.

The kitchen was finished on Friday but I didn't get around to photographing it.


Today I have mainly been tiling the porch.

Sheep may safely etc. etc.

Neville has brought six ewes to dine on the luscious grass.

Now you might think they are in the wrong order but no. There were several leaks in the plumbing (one from the previous owner and one a leaking washing machine ) behind the units which had slowly rotted the bottoms. Also the vinyl was worn out. So new ceramic tiles to the floor and new units with the old doors and work tops. Eventually.

He ( or she ) is back.

I am sat eating breakfast watching the kingfisher on the pond. He has been absent for months so it is wonderful to see him again. But fishing in the rain is not much fun.

And the tractor / rescue tractor got a wash too.

The brambles have to be burnt so an excellent opportunity for toasted marshmallows and sparklers.

Some work is getting done.

But when rain stops play we watch old movies.


Possibly the best comedy film ever.
