Renewing a fence.

We are repairing the fence by the drive and dealing with the nettles and brambles.

'We' being Bella, Anth and me - Helen was looking after all the little ones.

And any fool can find it.

Or rugby.

There goes the neighbourhood.

Not really. Helen and Steve and Immie and Jack
But they brought the sunset with them.

Hot again.

There was steady rain last night and now things are a little damper. But the sun is out again.

I have planted up the new bed in the football field.

And potted up these four magnolias.

They cost £1.99 each! What a bargain. In a few years they will be magnificent. Look here.

Soft fruit bonanza.

Still picking strawberries and raspberries.

Leaving the currants for next week when there will be helpers.

Red currants.

Rose currants.

And white currants.
One of the jobs today was levelling the entrance to the field so we can park RosieMay there and also a caravan next week.

Also dug the first potatoes.

And finally a little drop of rain.

A wet day.

No it wasn't! We were promised twenty four hours of rain and to watch out for flooding. Not a drop fell. I had arranged to do some work at Glyncoed as it would be wet so nothing got done here.
This is what twenty four hours of rain looks like.

Cutting the grass before the onslaught.

A relaxing day in the pool.

Ah. It's not a pool it's a pond. Still, much cooler in the water.

Weekend away

We went to Mid Wales for a weekend - yes I know we live in Mid Wales but this was North Mid Wales.
Photos for the trip over on www.rosiemaytravels.co.uk

Pick your own.

Today was a fruit picking day.
Strawberries, raspberries, red currants and black currants.

There are still white currants and rose currants to pick.

Summertime.

The field has been cut for hay but our meadow will be left till all the wild flowers have set seed.

A good crop of potatoes - which is odd because I didn't plant potatoes in this bed this year! Must be ones I missed when digging out the crop last year.

Weeding - before on the right and after on the left.

Trimming all the flowers to force a second flush

Harvest is starting.

A weekend trip down memory lane.

Along by the river to the new canal.

To Edge Common.

To Chavenage House.

And visiting Abbi, Steph and Tessa.
Happy days.
