Rain, rain, go away

It has rained for all of Steph's visit so reading has been the main task.

Finished just in time for Steph.

Progress.

Some progress in the bathroom.

Boxing and pipe work (under the bath)

Back to the bathroom.

Old bath out. And you can see where the leaks were. The taps were at the centre of the back of the bath so they couldn't be tightened - you can see where I tried to get in through the airing cupboard but there was no room to get tools in. The tap connector fittings were loose and must have had a slight drip for years.
New bath tried in for size.




It is lower than the old bath so gives more headroom for the shower.

We are safe and warm.

Not a lot of snow - just enough really.








and enough for a snow dog!

New sayings for the 21st century.

"Not enough snow to make a dog with!"

and words even stronger than that!
Sink and toilet fitted perfectly. Bath! I peeled off the plastic and found a slight crack in the surface near the plug hole. Rats. Seven to ten days waiting till they can get a replacement out to us! Rats!

It is different sink. Honestly. And the tap doesn't drip and the plug works.


And this is a different toilet. That flushes properly.

Out came the sun and dried up all the rain......

So insy winsy spider got outside and did some proper work!






The garden is coming to life - spring must be on the way.



And the first lupin is on the way!








The damp is causing some wonderful mini bracket fungi on the handrails.

Tiling in the bathroom shower done.



And the Christmas decorations are down too.

Back to work.....

At last. Well enough to do some little jobs about the place. Like repairing paintwork and tiling in the bathroom.






The new bath will mean we can shower upstairs ( well, short people anyway) so the tiling needs to go all the way up.
