A bicycle shed to meet behind.

Now that we have bikes we need somewhere to keep them. A lean-to cover seemed to be the answer.

The next project .......

The builders are working inside (plastering) and outside rendering so I can't work inside (electrics and decorating) or outside (paving and flowerbeds) so the I have started the next project - making a 'studio' and shed out of the goat shed.

The good thing about the conservatory is that it has lots of windows.

The bad thing about the conservatory is that it has lots of windows .... that all need painting. Inside and out. And the woodstain/varnish needs four coats to get it as dark as we want so that the frames don't show.

We went to Llanelli to pick up a second-hand bike for Kate.

and we visited the National Wetland Centre at Llanelli.

Wonderful place. There were southern marsh orchids in the grounds too.

Not a wishing well or a gun emplacement.

We are going to raise the ground level around the gas-tank access lid so I have built a little wall around it using blocks from the old shed. 'People' have been speculating unhelpfully as to what it was.

A day off for Father's Day

and a visit from Bella and Tessa. Lovely meal and a stroll round the garden then looking at Tessa's holiday photos.

Thank heavens we are using waterproof paint to paint the fascia boards before the guttering goes on.

The hay field is wonderful colour at the moment.

The grass is very high and due to be cut. It is a lovely ruby red colour as the grasses and plantains ripen.

I love it when a plan works.

Now that we have had some proper rain the springs that feed the pond have started running again. The pond now fills to the weir and overflows into the ditch.

Bella gave us some sunflower seeds for Immie and jack.

They are doing ok. The tallest is thirty one inches. In front are some dwarf sunflowers that Greg gave us.

We need two pedestrian gates to go in and out of the hay field. One down one to go.

Al the windows are in.

You get a good idea of what it will look like when finished. All the woodwork will be very dark almost black.

Old skills re-used.

The skid boss on the strimmer has vanished so rather than getting a spare part I turned a new one out of oak. I even polished it!

A quiet day.

It has been a glorious day. Time to cut the grass. Here are some pictures taken from the goat shed doorway.

Here are some pictures of the terrace. I am working on the flower bed to the right of it. The builders have just finished the roof and now start on the windows.

I never realised what lovely flowers raddishes have. Apparently the seed pods are very nice in salads.
