The next project....

Back to the pond. We need to sort out the beaches, make a rockery/mockery on the far side and build the decking.
Below is a link to a panoramic photo of the view from the bridge. It should open a web page and let you scroll around the picture - perhaps someone could let me know if it works.

A quiet stroll....

We went for a walk in the RSPB Dinas reserve to see the bluebells. We also saw Redstarts, pied flycatchers and wood warblers and heard a cuckoo (we did hear our first a few days ago). We also met a lesser spotted RSPB Warden - who was very chatty and informative.

I love it when a plan works.....

Now that the grass seed has started to grow, the gravel path is finished and the extended seating area is done things begin to look like they were meant to according to the plan in my head.

Progress on the path to the seating area.

Earthing up the potatoes.

The next lot of lettuce/radish/spring onions are coming up in the next bed.

Today was a day off.

Our first job was to entertain jack and Immie while the Easter bunny did his/her work.

Two or three years ago....

Steve and I went to the motor show and treated ourselves to cheap helicopters. Steve's lasted not very long. Mine has sat on various shelves all this time. Today was the launch day.

Helen and jack ducking as it heads for the pond.

But it still worked.....

Happy Easter Sunday to everyone.

New flower border filled up but no plants yet.

They are still growing in the greenhouse.

Extending the seating area by the bridge.

Tree fellers.

Today the men who are doing the hedge and fence between us and the neighbours farm arrived. Only three days late. In an hour they felled the trees and branches that were overhanging the new fence. It has made quite a big difference. And will make a lot of logs when I get round to it. The photo is a panorama from the new bridge and shows the tree line at the bottom of the field when they had finished felling. They will be back to clear up and put in the fence.

Among today's jobs.....

Creating a step by the sweet pea border. The boot scraper was a present from Roger and Judith a few years ago - it finally has a home. Another job was a step across the flower border.

Short-sighted bee!!

A masonry bee tried to build his nest inside the front door keyhole. We have had to dissuade him!

Bella - look they all came up!!

A botany lesson for Bella.

I have always known this as 'Naked ladies in the Bath'. Also known as Dicentra Spectabilis. I told Bella it was called Naked Ladies but it was not in flower so I couldn't demonstrate its unique qualities.
