Another visitor!!

This young heron has been visiting the duck pond for a while. Today he/she decided to explore the front garden and walked round the house. It then squeezed onto the road and managed to get itself stuck in the hedge opposite. We used the loppers to clear a path for it to back itself out. A little while later it climbed out and went off exploring. You do see life in the country!!

We have just taken a few days off and stayed overnight at Aberaeron.

An early birthday treat. We visited two gardens that started life as smallholdings. We were looking for ideas. And we did some beach walking and cliff walking.

Aberaeron at night.

The sun shone!

and we bought some plants.

One step forward.

The step had to be dug up for the gas pipe to go under. And the rainwater pipe too.

and the oil tank has gone to the house next door.

We have finally found a home for the geese!

Not the oven (sadly) but a local man who has seventy five acres up on the hill and loves geese. He has five already and has always wanted a brown goose. So we caught them and they were delivered this morning. We are planning on more chickens and some ducks now.

1. You know you live in the country when .......

you have grass growing in the road outside your house.
